Please and thank you

Kids just starting school are at a point where they are still adjusting to interactions with other children beyond the security of home. They are beginning to realize that it is necessary to be respectful and polite in order to be accepted. Good manners and polite behavior are important components of these new social situations and words such as “please,” “thank you,” and “excuse me” should be incorporated into children's everyday vocabulary

Good Manors

“What’s the magic word?” “What do you say?” “Close your mouth!” Sometimes you feel like a parrot in your attempts to get your kids to use their manners. You’ve worked on “please” and “thank you” since they were two—so why do they seem to need a refresher course on a daily basis?

As we often say, “A child who always forgets has a parent who always remembers,” which means that constant reminders aren’t likely to change your kids’ behavior long-term. Fortunately, it’s entirely within your reach to raise a child who says “excuse me” even when you’re not around

Good Manors teaching lessons........

Learning Objectives
Children will:

• understand why good manners are desirable.
• recognize what constitutes good manners.
• understand that good manners are a way of showing respect
  and caring for people.
• learn polite ways to act in a variety of social situations
These lessons will be taught to all kids training at the Malta Tang Soo Do Association.
