E.T.S.D.F
The European Tang Soo Do Federation teaches one of the oldest martial arts. Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean martial art based on the ancient Korean kicking style of Tae Kyun, and the soft, flowing movements from the Chinese Martial Arts systems.
Whilst Tang Soo Do has the rituals and discipline of a traditional martial art it equips every student with effective modern self defence knowledge, techniques and capabilities.
The ETSDF - lead by Master Suresh Nar, sixth Dan Master belt - is part of a larger global organisation, the International Martial Arts Association (IMA). The IMA is dedicated to the proliferation of the art of Tang Soo Do and its values throughout the world.
The European Tang Soo Do Association is strongly committed to teaching the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do in a highly disciplined, safe and positive environment which focuses on the development of high moral character including the core ethical values of respect, honesty and responsibility.
Our students train in structured, often intensely physical classes in which they will master defense and combative techniques. We take pride in allowing our students to develop confidence in other fields of life through the martial arts and encourage a community spirit both during and outside of training.
Tang Soo Do is principally an art form and while the focus of training sessions is to improve the physical self, our primary goal is to demonstrate to students how physical and mental training go hand in hand and demand hard work and respect.
The total activity of European Tang Soo Do will be dedicated towards providing a stimulating learning environment for students. Our instructors are encouraged to explore new ideas in teaching, learning and research and to pursue technical initiatives compatible with the ETSDF ethos. We seek to improve self- control and awareness, concentration and focus, discipline and fitness. Together, we strive for self-betterment which is the tradition and legacy of the Korean Martial Arts.
The Federation has clubs in England, Wales, Ireland and Malta.
